My prediction: In the next 5 to 10 years, many Americans will have robots in their homes. Just like today, everybody has a cell phone which is actually a computer; in only a few years, everyone will have a robot who is their personal assistant. This personal assistant robot will run on AI and will be much more capable than a cell phone. Our robot assistant will be a friend and collaborator. Today we think nothing of using a computer, cell phone, or smart speaker to help us in our day-to-day lives. In only a few years, most of those functions will be replaced by a personal AI-enabled robot.
